2014 'Patchwork' Zinfandel Blend
85 cases produced
Like the patchwork vineyards of Sonoma County, this delicious wine represents terroir - A blend of 67% zinfandel with carignane, cabernet franc, malbec, merlot, petite sirah, sangiovese and petit verdot. In French and American oak for 20 months. All the grapes are sourced from the Alexander and Sonoma valleys.
We crafted this wine with the goal to produce an elegant zinfandel blend that would pair nicely with food or stand alone as a stunning 'by the glass' wine.
What the Critics are Saying...
91 Points - Dark red in color. 15.2% alcohol. Predominantly Zinfandel and Carignane. Pretty nose of dark fruits, slate, earth and minerals. Medium body with medium acidity. Plush and elegant with great mouth feel. Cherries, white pepper and blackberries on the palate. Delicious and easy to drink. Best over the next 3-5 years.

90 Points - The wine is deep ruby color. The big and outgoing nose has brambly berries, baking spices, charcoal, scorched earth, licorice, freshly cracked black peppercorns, black cherries, crushed stones and a hint of eucalyptus. This has a full body with moderate ripe tannins and good acidity. Berries, spice, scorched earth and black cherries quickly coat your palate on the front end with charcoal and black pepper coming in later. The finish has nice length with some crushed stone minerals providing depth. This is a big bruiser that shows nice refinement and is kept lively by the nice acidity. This tastes great now and should hold for several years in the cellar.
