News from the blending lab....

We're at it again. A rainy day here in Sonoma County but that's OK with us..We're busy putting together a couple of new blends in very limited quantities. Blending has always been one of our favorite jobs in the winemaking process. After all, we learned from two of Sonoma County's best, David Coffaro of Coffaro Winery and Robert Rex of Deerfield Ranch Winery. Sticking to our roots both of these blends will have a Zinfandel base with all the fruit coming from select Sonoma County vineyards.

While we're on the subject of blends I urge you to try our 2012 "Take Five". It's 50% Merlot, 20% Syrah, 18% Malbec, 8% Sangiovese and 4% Petit Verdot. It's a terrific food wine. Some comments from consumers:

  • Leon Cromstock...Perfect balance, not too acidic but far from bland, fruit all over the palate but none dominating. I love with food or without.
  • Brad Thompson...Simply delicious with pasta, pork roast and lamb dishes.
  • Pamela Valentine...A truely wonderful California red wine for all occasions.
  • Ernie Carleton...This came in first place in a blind tasting with our monthly wine group among seven entries!

The bottle cost is $35, $28 for wine club members. Join wine club here. Check out all of our wines here. We have flat rate shipping, $12 for 4 bottles, $18 for 6 bottles and one whole dollar ($1) for a full case. Mixed cases OK. That's anywhere we ship to in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. We accept Visa, MC, Amex & Discover cards.

Remember, wine club members get 20% off ALL wine ALL the time.

Plus special offers on small limited addition bottlings.

That's it for this time around. I hope you're all enjoying this fine spring and drinking some good wines! Please give us a call if you're in the neighborhood.

Cheers from Bruce Patch and crew
